A wine auction and wine tasting sponsored by Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho (PPGWNI) will be held on Friday November 5th 2010 at the Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center in downtown Walla Walla. A wine tasting will start at 7:00 and will include a silent auction, music, and hors d’oeuvres. The live auction will start at 8:30. Tickets are $90 per person or $170 per couple with the proceeds benefiting PPGWNI’s health center in Walla Walla.

This Saturday October 30th 2010 Renaissance Vineyard & Winery located in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains will be celebrating their 31st anniversary by hosting an exclusive gala event. The event billed on their website as “an exploration of the distinctive vintage character reflected in the extraordinary precision of our wine” will feature a tasting of 31 vintages including some that are not available anymore. The Discover Virginia Wine TasteLive event is scheduled for Monday October 25th from 8:00 to 9:30 pm EST. If you’ve never been involved in a TasteLive event it is something where you can be enjoying wine at home with other winemakers and wine lovers. These wine events which utilize Twitter, carry some kind of theme, which of course for this one is Virginia wines.
Certain wines are picked and the participants taste one or all of the wines and twit about them. If you are in the Morro Bay area of California this weekend you should definitely visit the 29th Annual Morro Bay Harbor Festival. Some of the highlights of the festival include three stages of local entertainment including John Waite and Coco Montoya. Also, there will be wine tastings and local cuisine available in the Albertson’s Wine and California Cuisine Pavilion. Fun for kids at the Carnival Cove along with entertainment for them also.
