Low-yielding old vines from the best parts of the Herrenberg and Abtsberg vineyards give superb quality grapes that are fermented with natural yeasts in traditional large old oak casks. The result is an off-dry wine that embodies all the characteristics of classic Maximin Grunhaus: perfectly balanced peach and apricot fruit, with delicate spicy mineral flavors and a lingering finish. They have great ageing potential.

Altogether deeper black fruit than Ciel du Cheval combined with a powerful sense of Tapteil dust, a signature trait of this vineyard. There is a solid core of massive blackberry and black plum fruit. The freshness of the vintage is present in the slight orange peel accents on the palate. The tannins are typically Tapteil: big, ripe, long and dense. This needs a steak like fish need water.
